Will King Charles Really Do It?
One can only hope:)
Prince Harry will be permanently exiled by King Charles, as the royal family plans to follow the playbook drawn up to overcome a crisis triggered in 1936, when Edward VIII abdicated and was obliged to live the rest of his life outside the UK, according to the Daily Beast.

Naughty Naughty Queen Elisabeth
No more martinis for Her Majesty
The monarch is rarely seen drinking in public but according to palace sources, just like her son Prince Charles, her alcoholic beverage of choice is often a dry martini.
The 95-year year-old is also believed to enjoy a glass of sweet wine with dinner, while her late cousin Margaret Rhodes once reported she was known to drink a glass of champagne before bed.
'The
alcohol has gone, her doctors want to make sure she is as fit and
healthy as possible,' a second source was quoted as saying by the
magazine.

British Royals And Homeopathy
Apparently, the British Royal family, and especially Prince Charles, are big fans of homeopathy. It's probably old news for their fans but I only discovered it recently, when doing some research on the topic of alternative medicine. I wonder if homeopathic remedies were what allowed Queen Mother to beat cancer not once, but twice in her life and whether she used them instead of conventional chemo treatments which are so harsh on one's body. The article is silent about it.
I'm not sure myself what I think of homeopathy, but I tend to agree with the lady quoted in the first article I linked to:
“The Royal family have huge resources and access to everything medicine has to offer, yet they choose homeopathy,” explains Roberts. “I thought, 'Why would they use it if it doesn’t work?’”
So when my husband got injured I bought a homeopathic balm to apply to his bruises and it seemed to work rather quickly. He only used it for a couple of days and hen he started feeling better.
Does anyone have much experience with homeopathy? Feel free to share!
In other. but not related health news, Romans had great teeth because they didn't consume sugar. I'm going to write more about Romans and their diet next week, so stay tuned!

King George V
King George V was a grandson of Queen Victoria and reigned from 1910 till 1936, when he died. The Catholic Illustration published an article about him in its May, 1935 issue, since UK was celebrating 25 years of his reign. Of course, there were pictures:
King George and his wife, Queen Mary and the crowns of the Kingdom and the Empire:
A family album photo from 1873: The future King George is the one sitting, the boy standing is his eldest brother Duke of Clarence who died in 1892, making him the crown prince. The little girl in the center is the future Queen Maud of Norway, the one on the right is Princess Victoria, the girl standing next to the Duke is the eldest sister, who died young, too.
Here are George and Mary in their daily clothes, travelling through England in 1925.
King George loved the sea and in 1903 he became a vice-admiral. The picture above is out of the time of WWI and is taken on board the submarine. The king was then 52 years old but still quite agile, as you can see.
Here he is steering his own yacht.

Visiting A Royal Couple
and other things.
King Leopold III of Belgium with his wife Queen Astrid. The photo above was taken in somewhere in spring of 1935 and published in an April issue of the Catholic Illustration, a magazine I wrote about last year. He is 33 in the picture and she is 29 and they have just being the king and queen for a year, since Leopold's father King Albert's death.
They had three children together, one daughter and two sons
(Here is Astrid with their youngest)
and lived in the palace Stuyvenberg in Laeken. Raised in Sweden in all simplicity, Queen Astrid cooked for her children herself and took them out for a walk, saying that she was just an ordinary mother.
Here you see her arranging flowers.
The queen was raised Lutheran and had to convert to Catholicism in order to marry Leopold. Their marriage took place in 1926. According to the article, this was one of the pictures she kept in her bedroom, presumably it was of her father? Or may be her father-in-law?
They were a beautiful couple but she had only a short time to live after that article was written. In August of the same year, they went on vacation to Switzerland where the queen died in a car crash when her husband lost control over the steering wheel.

Since it was an Easter edition of the magazine, there was an article about a special form of Easter Liturgy taking place in Sint Andries Abbey.

It included, among other things, blessing of an Easter lamb on the church altar:
