Catholic Church On The Role Of Women

CATHOLIC WOMEN ARE HOMEMAKERS AND MOTHERS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, AND WHENEVER POSSIBLE SHOULD REMAIN AT HOME AND NOT IN THE WORKPLACE. THEY MUST ALSO BE SUBMISSIVE TO THEIR HUSBANDS, WITHIN REASON, FOR THE GOOD OF THE FAMILY AND THEIR OWN DIGNITY. THIS IS OFFICIAL CATHOLIC TEACHING…👇

Your Teenager Needs You Home

There are still women out there who would agree that mothers of young children belong home. Some would even go so far as to suggest that those kids who go to primary school should have their moms around, too. But a teenager? They can take care of themselves, can't they?

There is a small problem with this line of reasoning. Namely, the fact, that teenagers in general are prone to risk-taking behaviours, as illustrated by the previous article I linked to. Your baby isn't going to get drunk. Your toddler won't do drugs or start an orgy. Your teenager may and sometimes they will.

When you look at the case of the teenage killer, you see a stereotypical 2 income family and a child (yes, teenagers are still children) of 14 spending long hours home alone which gave her the freedom to use drugs without her parents even suspecting anything. Because if you know something about a 2 income family (I do), then you realise that both parents are too tired in the evening to really bother.

In my country the police recently arrested a p8do. He created fake accounts on social media pretending to be a young woman and encouraging underage boys to send him explicit material. Some of these boys were as young as 10. While the crimes against children are horrible, and should be punished severely, I keep wondering, where were the parents of these young boys? Do they take any interest in their kids' activities any more, or do they just give them a smartphone and that's it?

Mom, in the world of today your teenager needs you at home, more than ever!

Happy Mother's Day

 Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

I tried to post a video, but the Blogger would delete my previous video on Hobbits somehow, so I'll just congratulate you like this!

There Is Nothing Glamorous About Divorce

Here is an interesting video about women regretting their divorces:

Here are a couple of things to consider. First, WARNING: language. Not PG friendly:)

Second, I've know guys who did exactly the thing he says never happens, like leaving his wife for another woman, but his general point stands.

Third, the lady with 4 kids is a real basket case and the ex-husband is much too nice, which is why she probably left him in the first place.

And finally, the last case. I've written on my blog about a similar story, but it ended much worse. The woman hanged herself in front of her minor kids.

Women in the past were taught how to attract men, to make them marry you and, the most important thing, how to keep them. Appears to be a lost art nowadays...

The Importance Of Mothers

I remember the words of an old song, Mother gave me life, Mother is the most important word in every language. This simple fact is somehow denied in our modern times. I recall reading a magazine about pregnancy and childbirth from a midwife's office where some "child development specialist" claimed that it really doesn't matter for your child who is raising him, you or a nanny. This is obviously a lie, invented to make working moms feel better about themselves.

Here is a simple test. Have you ever being scared witless in your adult life? May be not in real life situation but in a dream? Whom did you call for help? There is a story I read once about American war prisoners in Japanese camps in the 1940s. Japanese were in the habit of torturing them for fun, to break their spirits. These men would call their mothers. Not Dad. Not Granny. Not a baby sitter. Not a nice day care lady. No, these once tough soldiers were screaming for their moms.

That is not to say that a father isn't important. And, of course, it's a blessing to have loving and involved grandparents. I'm saying it as someone partly raised by Grandma. I loved her to pieces and still do, though she has been many years deceased. She was a real proper lady with high moral principles, feminine but hard as nails if the need called. They don't make them like that any more. Still, Granny was Granny and Mother is Mother if you know what I mean.

If you are planning to have children you should also be planning to stay home with them. And not only "while breastfeeding" or "until they go to school" or any such nonsense. Teenagers need their mothers, too. Your baby won't try alcohol behind your back. Your toddler won't do drugs. Your 1st grader won't have orgies at home. We all know who is prone to try all these things if there is no one around. It's not a modern problem, either. I remember when I was in high school there were certain homes where no grown ups were present during the day where certain things happened. Sometimes working mothers even had to quit their jobs to set things right.

It didn't get better since that time, if something it got worse.

Whatever pretty lies the society has been telling you, it still doesn't change the real facts. It's not your mother's responsibility.

The Law On Single Moms

Modern churches shame Christian men for not wishing to marry single moms:

So without further ado, here are the theological errors in his three reasons he thinks “Christian men should pursue Christian single moms for marriage.”

“1. Single Christian moms are as pure as the sinless Son of God, which is more than you deserve in a wife.”

Here, Parkison confuses righteousness coram deo (before God) with righteousness coram mundo (before the world.)  Before God, single Christian moms are indeed pure due to the imputed righteousness of Christ, which he mentions several times in the piece. But in this very same sentence, he judges Christian men coram mundo when he indicates that they don’t deserve such a wife.  After all, coram deo, Christian men are likewise pure & perfect. Accordingly, they truly deserve a spotless bride just as much as Jesus Christ does. In other words, Parkison is making an apples-to-oranges comparison here.

Such attitude to single moms being perfection itself is rather new. I'd like to give you an example of how the law and custom used to treat single moms somewhere about 100 years ago in my country.

First, there were no "single moms". You had widows, which were respected, divorced women and unwed mothers of bastards illegitimate kids. Those groups were all treated differently. I'm not sure how the law treated the rights of a divorced mother before WWII. After the war, they usually got the custody but the divorce itself was considered something extremely shameful and their choice of prospective marriage partners was rather slim.

Poor widows were to be provided for by their male relatives, usually brothers. Since a woman was not considered responsible enough to raise a child on her own, the law made her brother the guardian of the child and any decision, such as education had to be approved by him. As you can understand, many men were very resentful at the idea of having to support both his own family and that of his sister. I heard stories about some relatives where the lady was left a widow with 6 or 7 children and her brother made such a deal out of it that she swore to marry the 1st man who would take her. She then married a widower with 6 kids of his own (all boys while hers were all girls).

Even though he had married her so that she could take care of his kids, he again resented very much the necessity of providing for the kids of another man and promptly kicked her daughters out of the house by the 1st opportunity so that they had to enter domestic service (there was little opportunity of other employment).

I also read that in some places widows were provided for by the community but had to take care of the orphans in return.

And what about the real "single moms", the euphemism invented for the one reason only, to take away the stigma?

A woman who produced an illegitimate kid was obviously deemed unfit to raise him herself. If the family were poor the child was taken away and placed in an orphanage. The mother then had to work, and pay out of her wages for the upkeep for her bastard. She was allowed to visit him from time to time. If she married (and yes, it did happen even back then), she had to quit her employment (married women couldn't work, of course), so it was up to her husband to pay for it. The child still stayed in an orphanage though.

Again, I heard stories of a distant relative somewhere in the 1920 or thereabout who always claimed that her pregnancy was the result of r8pe (though the man was never prosecuted) yet it didn't help her. She later married and her husband kept paying to the orphanage. Germany, btw, had similar laws about male guardians, and they were abolished only somewhere in the 1980s from what I heard.

So that was the law and tradition about single moms back then. I'm not implying we should go back to it, just providing the info:)

I Get Up At 6 To Make My Hubby Breakfast

Even though I can't agree with her husband-finding methods, this is quite impressive by modern standards:

WAKING up at 6am, Bronte Rawlingson rushes to the kitchen to whip up her husband’s favourite breakfast before a day of cleaning and looking after their children...

Dropping out of private school for love and then choosing to become a teen mum at 19, she is a self-confessed “traditional wife” and has no interest in having a career.

The 29-year-old is married to Phil, 35, a plumbing business owner, and says staying home and being “feminine” helps their marriage flourish.

She adds: “I believe one of the reasons there are so many failed marriages is that women don’t behave in the way men want...

... I get up at 6am to make my hubby breakfast & clean, if women looked after their men like me they wouldn’t get divorced

Does Depression Even Exist?

Depression in general and post-partum depression in particular.

Here are some interesting links:

No evidence that depression is caused by low serotonin levels

Does Depression Exist? (from HuffPost, no less)

Another article with the same name raises some very interesting questions:

Does depression exist? I don’t mean to imply that those with depression should just “pull themselves together”: of course depression symptoms exist (and are sometimes life-ruining). And of course those symptoms often overlap with each other, which certainly implies that there’s a common cause. But is there a thing we can point to in someone’s brain — or some identifiable part of their psychology — that’s called “depression”?

In my opinion, what we call "depression" is the consequence of stress and chronic stress leads to a long-term depression, which appears to be supported by evidence, as this article on post-partum depression states:

The women were asked in interviews about how much support they received from their families and the child's father and about their symptoms of depression. In addition, blood samples from all participants were analyzed to assess their levels of placental corticotropin-releasing hormone (pCRH), a stress hormone released from the placenta...

... Hahn-Holbrook and her colleagues discovered that pregnant women who reported the greatest support from their families had lower levels of depressive symptoms. They also had the least dramatic increases in pCRH and the lowest absolute levels of pCRH in the third trimester of pregnancy...

...These results are consistent with the idea that social support limits abnormal pCRH increases and that lower pCRH levels, in turn, reduce the risk of postpartum depression.

Finally, this guy argues that suffering from depression and/or anxiety happens because your life generally s8cks and it won't get better until you actively try to improve it.

The Gift Which Keeps On Giving

Have you ever asked yourself what the heck is wrong with Western women? They often have multiple s8x partners but seem unable to attach to anyone, they divorce their husbands on a whim, their lack of maternal instinct is pretty spectacular and is only rivaled by their love for liberal causes such as infinity diversity combined with hatred of her own people. In terms of the survival of the fittest they are right below on the list right now.

You can't attribute it all to indoctrination, there are sound biological reasons behind this abnormal and I should say, suicidal behaviour. Now what could it be? What could have changed normal femal behaviour so much but only, it appears, in western countries? It's this wonder of modern pharmacy, the anti-conception pill:

It was meant to revolutionise life in the bedroom – but taking the Pill switches off the look of love.

A new study shows that women who choose the daily contraceptive see their men in a less flattering light.

Do you know who they start valuing more? Other women, aka the female "herd":

It adds: ‘To some extent [the Pill] mimics hormone profiles during pregnancy, [so] oxytocin may increase the reward value of a female friend as a potential source of social support.’...

The study says: ‘[It appears that] oxytocin interacts with the brain reward system to reinforce partner value representations in both sexes, a mechanism which may significantly contribute to stable pair-bonding in humans and appears to be altered in women using hormonal contraceptives.’

Psychosexual therapist Pauline Brown said the research presents women with a dilemma.

She said: ‘There’s no doubt that the Pill lowers the libido in many women and this explains why.

It’s a paradox that contraception can be seen by some couples as a way to help their relationship and yet it may end up having the opposite effect.

In short, the Pill interferes with normal oxytocin production which impairs pair-bonding. But wait, there is more. Oxytocin is also important for in-group bonding, as it promotes human ethnocentrism. Westerners currently have probably the lowest level of it which is the price we as a society pay for our love of convenience (many men don't want to be "burdened" with children just as much or even more than women), something the Catholic Church warned about in Humana Vitae (I think, could be another document).

Amazingly, we are taught that ethnocentrism is bad, and yet it also
facilitates within-group trust, cooperation, and coordination and is necessary for any group to survive and keep its identity.

By putting another 15 year old girl on the Pill to "regulate her cycle" (I just wonder how did all these countless female ancestors we had regulate theirs before the 1960) the doctor creates another foot soldier for a New World Order. That's why all these secular right wing groups ranting against mass immigration won't achieve much unless they address the elephant in room: the so-called s8xual revolution leads to extinction. Which is correct, because we know that the wages of sin is death.

Careers Making Women Infertile

That was the whole point of it:

The 50-minute-long training session left Huston, who weighs 113lb and wears 45lb of line gear plus a 25lb chainsaw strapped to her back, exhausted beyond anything she’d felt before. “I could feel the fatigue literally in my womb,” the 23-year-old says.

Huston is a hotshot – a firefighter who battles wildfires. She hasn’t had a period in three years, something she attributes to the physical intensity of the job, and the brutal training sessions crews are put through...

Research Jahnke conducted in 2018 surveyed 1,821 women in the force. The report found 27 percent of firefighters’ pregnancies ended in miscarriage, while rates of pre-term birth were as high as 16.7 percent, higher than the national average of 10 percent.

The solution is, of course, to have kinder, gentler fires that pregnant ladies will have little difficulty putting out:

Firefighters are regularly exposed to chemicals like carbon monoxide, ammonia and known carcinogens, which, according to the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, are linked to early miscarriage, birth defects, slowed fetal growth, impeded brain development and preterm labor.

It's because fires are a tool of the patriarchy, government should have forbidden wildfires long ago. Then women could just get a high salary without actually doing anything at all:

“Women are being failed by a system that is intrinsically built around, and for, men,” says Dr Sara Jahnke, the director and senior scientist at the National Development & Research Institutes, which focuses on public health.

“There is no room for sexual harassment or gender-based discrimination in the fire service,” said USFA fire administrator Tonya Hoover.

When choosing a career for your daughter, remember, we are all equal! As for children, we can always import them, after all we are doing quite a good job right now...

Let's Talk Working Mothers

Because you really need this yuge house...

Psychotherapist Susan Gerhardt said, "What seems to be most crucial for the baby is the extent to which the parent or caregiver is emotionally available and present for him, to notice his signals and to regulate his states."

"The baby’s mother is primed to do these things for her baby by her own hormones, and is more likely to have the intense identification with the baby’s feelings that is needed, provided she has the inner resources to do so.

"Babies come into the world with the need for social interaction to help develop and organize their brains.

"If they don’t get enough empathetic, attuned attention – in other words, if they don’t have a parent who is interested and reacting positively to them – then important parts of their brain simply will not develop as well..."

According to Dr. Gordon Neufeld, the prefrontal cortex is not ready for integrative thinking and social interaction until between five to seven years of age...

As a result, children continue to need an emotionally available and present parent or caregiver until they are school age. This caregiver needs to understand the children's emotional cues and be able to support the integration process.

Nine separate studies from Holland's Leiden University show that the more hours children spend outside their home, the more their stress and panic levels rise...

... the lack of close parent-child interaction creates long-term effects of depression, hyperactivity, suboptimal cognitive and language development, poorer-than-expected academic achievements, and different forms of mental health damage...

Leaving your baby in the care of other since age 2.5 months should constitute abandonment, unless the family are starving, and it would, in a just society which isn't obsessed with narcissism, egoism and material gains.

It's interesting that when you do a search on the topic, Western newspapers try to minimalise the effect, unlike Israel News.

Happy Mother's Day!

How did we ever come to the point when the word Mother, arguably the most important word in any language, the first word you learn, has become politically incorrect?

Personally I want to wish Happy Mother's Day to every mother, expectant mother and wannabe mother! We had a great day at the camping, it was +29*C in that part of the country (we left yesterday with rain and +11*C).

We went out and ate cake and drank tea and coffee, the sun was shining, the terrace was full, and everybody was happy that we are finally allowed to enjoy life again.

Temps will get lower the coming week, but still reasonable for May, and Thursday is Ascension, so a long weekend again, for many. Hope you all are having a fine day today with your loved ones!

The State Of Western Fatherhood

Wife wants to take care of her baby, is accused of being mentally ill by her own husband:

My wife’s company has a generous maternity leave policy, and she has been at home with our daughter since the birth and is scheduled to go back to work just after her first birthday in January. She recently told me she doesn’t want to go back to her job and would like to be a stay-at-home parent instead. I asked her why, and she said she enjoys being a mother too much to leave our daughter to go back to work when she doesn’t need to...

...one of the things I was most attracted to was her ambition and tenacity. It’s really surprising to hear that her career isn’t that important to her anymore...

... I really admired my wife for her work ethic, and I want her to set a good example for our daughter, too. Seeing her give up like this is really disappointing. I gently asked her if she thought her change in attitude could be related to a possible mental health issue...

It's actually called maternal instinct, even cats possess it. It's what makes you a good mother. Yet, there are some women on the internet who will defend this loser and say that the wife needs to obey him unconditionally, and that the well-being of a baby is less important than the father's feels.

And yes, I met "men" in real life who pushed their (unwilling) wives into the workforce and then had the audacity to complain. The state of modern Western family isn't only the women's problem.

Read the whole article over here.

P.S. I've read a twitter discussion on the topic and some folks apparently have a reading comprehension problem. Nicole isn't the father's name, it's the lady who runs an advice column and she quotes a guy who wrote to her.

Attention Pregnant Ladies

After a certain age expectant mothers are usually encouraged to undergo screening for chromosomal abnormalities which nowadays often takes a form of a blood test done in the 1st trimester that is considered less invasive and dangerous than amnio. If the results come back showing high probability of certain genetic disorders she could be advised to terminate.

Yet, recent research shows that at the early stages of development (1st trimester), the foetus is capable of restoring itself and eliminating abnormal cells:

Professor Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz underwent a standard test that showed 25 per cent of the cells in her developing embryo could be abnormal.
Under traditional medical thinking, such an outcome could have resulted in a termination. However, she went ahead with the pregnancy and after her son, Simon, was born healthy, she was inspired to research how the developing foetus can heal itself.

Prof Zernicka-Goetz, 52, found rogue cells revealed by such tests are often killed off by their healthy neighbours. The mother of two said older mothers should be 'reassured' because even levels of up to 50 per cent abnormal cells can be eliminated by the body's repair mechanisms.

Is Submission Always A Good Thing?

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil...

Female submission is a hot topic on the right-wing internet. Apparently, every problem in the world comes from the lack of it, and every social evil would disappear if only women started submitting again; at least, if you listen to some.

But could it be that the real problem is actually that modern women are too submissive? You'll ask me how is it even possible in the age of feminism? Well, bear with me and I'll state my case.

Have you noticed how shallow many modern women are? They are like empty vessels, without any original thought in their heads. They will blindly follow social trends and do or support whatever the MSM tell them is the latest coolest thing to do at the moment. They are always trying to fit in. I once personally witnessed a  feminist lady walking into a traditional Eastern church where all the females wear headcoverings and start demanding that she's be given one, too, in order not to stick out. That made me wonder how many ardent feminists would actually support ISIS clothing guidelines if these guys ever came to power.

They lack convictions, too. Mothers who had stayed home with their own children told me it was nowadays OK to work because "everybody does it.". Society conditioning overrides even healthy biological instincts, as I've known ladies who would cry when they first had to leave their baby in the care of others but followed the advice of those who told them a 2-mos old baby should learn to fend for themselves and that a nice house in the suburbs is worth the sacrifice.

Progressives like to present themselves as rebels. Our culture romanticises the concept. Yet, the progressive ideas are the mainstream now and the women who follow a feminist script just follow the path of the least resistance. It's often not even because of any firmly held beliefs, but simply because "everybody does it". They are the very opposite of rebels and are, in fact, conformists submissive to the society demands.

I know that at this point many men would probably rub their hands and say something along the lines of women being stupid and what else could you expect of them? And yet, I don't think it's the truth. Because I have also been privileged to know many fine ladies who had very strong moral opinions and convictions, knew right from wrong, wouldn't approve of the sin in their children's lives under the guise of "love" and wouldn't follow the multitude just to fit in.

So what's the difference between the two? It probably has something to do with inborn differences between the people, but also is probably the result of socialisation, when many girls are taught to always unquestioningly follow the authority. It may have worked OK when it was their husband or father, but now the authority switched to the MSM and social media so they will follow that. Yet, when the Scriptures teach us to obey those above us, they don't tell us to be blind in our obedience and submission. When the apostles said:" We ought to obey God rather than men," they meant is a guideline for both sexes, so women aren't exempt.

The wedding liturgy our church uses dates back to the 16th century so it is hardly feminist and yet is says that the wife is to obey her husband in all the good things only. In my opinion, it's important for women to have moral convictions of their own and not only follow someone else's instructions. If your daughter is a sincere believer you won't have debates about the length of her skirts, she will dress modestly to please the Lord. She won't engage in missionary dating. She won't marry a man who doesn't accept the Scriptural roles for men and women and won't leave your grandchildren in daycare. And she will do all this out of her own free will, because of the strength of her faith and her convictions and she'll teach her children to do the same.

Many men prefer soft, pliable girls as spouses or girlfriends but is it really good to be married to someone who is so easily influenced? The truth is, a breadwinner husband spends most of his time away from home, and shouldn't be burdened with an additional task of monitoring his wife and micromanaging her daily activities, he should trust her enough to be a reasonable person and a functioning adult who is capable of fulfilling her own duties. If she needs a babysitter, how can you trust her with raising kids?

What do you all think on the matter?

Modernity Isn't Kind To Women

and other health news.

Pre-eclampsia is one of the leading causes of the maternal deaths world-wide. While there are known risk factors, they'll tell you that the exact reasons are unknown.  Yet, there's been a research which links pre-eclampsia to working outside home (I bet you haven't heard about that one. I didn't, either!):

Women who work during pregnancy are almost five times more likely to develop a condition that threatens the lives of both mother and baby, say researchers.
They believe the stress of being at work could be increasing hormone levels that put women at greater risk of pre-eclampsia, a common and dangerous complication of late pregnancy...

A study headed by Professor John Higgins, of the department of obstetrics and gynaecology at University College, Cork, Ireland, reveals the definite link between carrying on with work and an increased risk of pre-eclampsia....

We aren't talking about older women, like 35+ over here, all the women in this study were in their prime child-bearing years:

The blood pressure of 933 women in their 20s at a large maternity hospital in Dublin was monitored over 24 hours while they went about their daily routines...

They were divided into three groups - 245 were working during their pregnancy, 289 were not working and 399 were employed, but chose not to work...

There were no differences among the three groups in length of pregnancy, birthweight, or method of delivery. But women in employment were almost five times as likely to develop pre-eclampsia.

However, the professor doing the research said that we should basically ignore the findings, because equality:

'Working during pregnancy has become the norm and this study is not something that can interfere with a woman's right and choice to work,' he added.

There is nothing quite as empowering as dying from eclampsia at your 21, but at least, you'll probably die standing:

previous research suggests prolonged standing causes problem pregnancies.

Just  imagine if we treated the link between smoking and pregnancy problems in similar manner:

Smoking during pregnancy has become the norm and we can't interfere with a woman's right and choice to smoke (or shoot heroine or whatever).

Yeah, didn't think so.

In other news, sexual revolution has been fun. Luckily, there is no stigma attached any more to having STDs, like Herpes. And, it's easily treatable as well, for grown-ups. For babies, not so much:

Devastated parents have issued a severe warning to others after their baby girl died from the cold sore virus at just 12 days old...

'When someone who has the virus in their system and kisses an infant, it can spread rapidly.
'You can have the virus and not even know you have it. You don’t have to have an active cold sore to pass it on.'

The child died a horrible death but at least we don't discriminate any more:

Little Emerson's kidneys were next before all of her organs started failing. She then had multiple seizures that left her brain dead and unable to stay alive without the help of machines.

(Sarcasm button switched off). Parents, protect your babies! And for Pete's sake, don't hang around people who routinely have this kind of infections. Losing your child isn't worth it!
