Weird Things Happening

There has been some strange activity around my blog lately. All the recent posts (and they were nothing special) are suddenly getting thousands of hits on Google stats, while the other program I use somehow fails to reflect them but shows regular visits from Applebots.

What's going on really?

A New Link

Just added a new blog called Throne, Altar, Liberty

Disclaimer:

My linking somewhere doesn't mean I necessarily agree with everything posted there.

Enjoy;)

P.S. I have been rather busy lately, but I'll try to post more in the near future. Love you all!

Bird Rescue

My husband insisted I'd write about it so here it is:)

Last time we went to the camping, he installed the tent again. It's actually a construction that rests on 4 poles which are hollow inside and it has a canvas roof we take off in the winter. In summer we put it on, which he did. Next morning, we went outside and heard strange noise and flapping, so we first thought there was a bird who accidentally got locked in our shed. However, we found out there was a bird inside one of the poles!

The poor thing apparently decided to spend the night under the roof and somehow fell down the pole. We tried to lower a cord with a piece of wood down through the opening in the hope that he would be able to hop out using it, but it didn't work. My husband then tried to lift the pole but there was no opening on the other side! We were quite at a loss what to do, but he then figured out that the pole had a detachable foot and went to search for a screwdriver. 2 screws came off easily and the 3d wouldn't, it looked like it was broken or something.

Then he finally managed to turn it somehow, lifted the pole just a tiny little bit and the little birdie flew away in a hurry! DH now expects applause and admiration for being such a hero and rescuing the poor fellow;)

Your Comments And Other Things

Please keep in mind when commenting on this blog that the moderation is turned on for every post older than 12 days, and that I often FORGET to check the moderation file. That's why your comments on older posts don't always appear on time, and I mean sometimes it can last like a year before I check it. It has nothing personally to do with you or the contents of your comment. In fact, today I checked my SPAM files and discovered that even my own comments, some as far as 2013 were somehow caught by spam filter. Now I'm not sure if they were doubles or something but have no desire to check because

it's 31*C outside and close to 30 in my bedroom where my computer stands. So it will be all for today:) I can promise to check these files more often, but whether it happens is a different matter entirely:)

Pentecost

Today is the Feast of Pentecost so we are having a long weekend. Tomorrow is a free day, too! The weather has been nice so far, sunny and the temps above +20*C but it's going to somewhat cool off tomorrow. I hope you all are having a good time:)

Why Do Americans Love British Royalties So Much?

I mean you guys fought the revolution to be free from the British monarchy:) By the way, we have royalties, too, but nobody seems to be interested in them.

Heat Wave

We are in the middle of a heat wave, the real one this time as the temps will stay above 30*C for several days. It's kinda warm right now, but the nights are getting longer so it's bearable. The airco hasn't been on yet, but it's quite uncomfortable in the bedrooms at night.

Well, as long as it stays under 35*C I guess we will be fine. Planning to spend the most of the weekend near water. But it does make you very lazy. I think instead of effort posting I'll just post some vacation pics tomorrow:)

Your Comments

 More follows already:)

While changing comments settings I looked at the moderation folder and rescued several of your comments which were stuck there.

I'm awfully sorry but the reason is that every comment on a post older than 12 days automatically goes into moderation, and that since I used to get a lot of spam I hardly ever checked them!

I'm Back!

Comments moderation is back to normal. More will follow...

Energy Tax

Some good news for a change.Yesterday I got an email from our energy company informing us that the government is temporarily lowering the taxes from 21% to 9%, to offset the rising prices. I hope they'll do something about high benzine prices next!
