Another Question To My Readers

I have long been considering a switch to WordPress for a number of reasons, but now as it is so far and I have made an account there I'm still having my doubts. May be, it's just laziness, lol. Still, I'd like to know your experiences with this platform. Would it make blogging and interaction easier? What would you prefer, this blog staying as it is now, or a WordPress one?

Your opinion is much appreciated!

  1. My daughter switched to WordPress and liked it much better. It depends on what YOU want. It's pretty easy for readers to follow you wherever.

  2. Sanne, I don't see the point in moving, but if you do I'll follow.

  3. Well, that's the problem. I'm not quite sure what I want:)))
I know very little of how WordPress works but I have a long experience with Google (not always satisfying), but that means that I can't really compare the two.

I have a feeling that I'd have more potential with WordPress.

    1. It sounds like you want a change, why not set up a sister site on WordPress and compare the two. Same content but different publishers.

  4. When I first moved to wordpress (way back in the dark ages measuring by Internet time), I really liked it better than blogger.

I've found that with every "improvement" they make, I like it less. Not sure how Blogger has evolved over the last 8 or 9 years, so I think you should do whichever you prefer.

  5. Mark, I hardly have energy for this one site, let alone two! It's awfully time-consuming. But yes, if I switch, I will let this one exist, for some time. May be double posting or something.

  6. Elspeth, I think about things like embedded videos, comment moderation, spam and commenting in general. For instance, for me to embed the video, I have to switch to html. But I don't use it for normal posts. Now, by some reason, Blogger set my default view to HTML so I have to switch it back manually every freaking time. It's awfully frustrating.

  7. If it doesn't allow a poster to edit a mistake on a comment, it is not an improvement.

  8. Do you mean that WordPress doesn't allow it? But Google doesn't, either, to my knowledge. Do you think it would be easier to post comments on WordPress? Because I got this complain many times, that people couldn't post a comment on this blog.
