Just To Cheer You All Up

I don't know why, but when I'm looking at these dresses I feel happy (no affiliate, don't get paid anything for promotion, just found their site yesterday by chance).

May be we should return to dressing like this, at least on Sundays?

  1. Yes, we should bring a return to dressing like this. I've been tired of the fashion industry for well over a decade; all they have done is wreck what is beautiful and tasteful.

These dresses are the kind of dresses that deserve pins when I browse through Pinterest.

  2. Before corona started, we used to go to many reenactment/fantasy events. Now with the restrictions supposedly easing over summer, I'm seriously thinking about buying one of those and wearing at some festival. The cheapest dress is quite affordable (92$) and comes in several colours.

  3. I am a medieval geek and Ive been wearing (simple) dresses like these for over 10 years. I bought a simple linen dress and simple woollen long cape with a hood in Olde Hansa - a medieval restaurant and shoppe in Tallinn, Estonia (unfortunately they don't carry clothing anymore) and then used the dress to make a pattern that fits me perfectly (wihout ruining the dress). Over the years I have sewed at least 7 dresses for myself, including one of thick wool with fur trim around the neck. Linen is absolutely the best fabric there is (for me, at least) The modern clothing/fashion has been so depressing for at least 25 years, so I stop trying to fit in looong ago. So far I have not been able to order from Armstreet, but perhaps some day! Btw. Armstreet has also .de page...

  4. Thanks, Miriam, that's very interesting, shipping from Germany must be cheaper than from the USA, so I'll check it!
BTW, how do people around react to your "historical" dresses? I think we are so much accustomed to weird style nowadays, that most probably won't notice at all. Unfortunately, my husband simply hates long dresses:) Except for costume occasions, of course.

  5. The Finns are very reserved and keep their thoughts to themselves, so they don't really ''react''. In Estonia there is old/historic/Medieval buildings/interests everywhere so I fit right in, at least that's how I feel and have felt :-)

  6. Miriam, it's nice to know! Here people mostly have an opinion about everything which they are glad to share:) But long dresses have been in fashion for some time already.
