They are talking about easing restrictions even further next weekend. As of now, we are allowed to visit zoos and open air museums which we did yesterday. And let me tell you something, the museum was FULL, though you can't see it in the pictures. It's been nearly 6 months since we last went out (not counting the church and eating at a restaurant which we did several times already).

Low Budget Apple Cake
It's vegetarian, and dare I say? Even vegan, but that's not the reason I baked it, it's easy, cheap and I had all ingredients on hand.
You will need:
1 1/2c flour
4 tbsp cacao powder
1tsp baking powder
4 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 big apple, peeled and sliced
Combine flour, cacao, baking powder and salt in one bowl. In another bowl, combine water, oil, lemon juice and vanilla, add to the flour mixture. Toss apple with cinnamon and sugar, then add to the batter. Transfer to a baking pan and bake at about 180*C for 30-35 min. Enjoy!

Let's Talk Working Mothers
Because you really need this yuge house...
Psychotherapist Susan Gerhardt said, "What seems to be most crucial for the baby is the extent to which the parent or caregiver is emotionally available and present for him, to notice his signals and to regulate his states."
"The baby’s mother is primed to do these things for her baby by her own hormones, and is more likely to have the intense identification with the baby’s feelings that is needed, provided she has the inner resources to do so.
"Babies come into the world with the need for social interaction to help develop and organize their brains.
"If they don’t get enough empathetic, attuned attention – in other words, if they don’t have a parent who is interested and reacting positively to them – then important parts of their brain simply will not develop as well..."
According to Dr. Gordon Neufeld, the prefrontal cortex is not ready for integrative thinking and social interaction until between five to seven years of age...
As a result, children continue to need an emotionally available and present parent or caregiver until they are school age. This caregiver needs to understand the children's emotional cues and be able to support the integration process.
Nine separate studies from Holland's Leiden University show that the more hours children spend outside their home, the more their stress and panic levels rise...
... the lack of close parent-child interaction creates long-term effects of depression, hyperactivity, suboptimal cognitive and language development, poorer-than-expected academic achievements, and different forms of mental health damage...
Leaving your baby in the care of other since age 2.5 months should constitute abandonment, unless the family are starving, and it would, in a just society which isn't obsessed with narcissism, egoism and material gains.
It's interesting that when you do a search on the topic, Western newspapers try to minimalise the effect, unlike Israel News.

We Do Have A Deadly Epidemic After All
of obesity. I should even venture to say that it is a pandemic raging around, with women hardest hit:
A record one million people were admitted to hospital because of obesity in England last year, official data has shown.
Data released by NHS Digital today shows admissions for conditions caused by obesity or where obesity affected people's treatment rose by 17 per cent in the year 2019 to 2020.
Women made up almost two thirds (64 per cent) of the hospital cases and admissions were more common in poorer areas than wealthy places.
There were times when the poor were underfed...
The medical director of NHS England, Professor Stephen Powis, called the figures 'shocking' and said they were 'a growing sign of the nation's obesity crisis'.
He said obese people were putting themselves at risk of cancer, heart disease and stroke and also putting extra pressure on the NHS, which spends billions of pounds every year on treating people for their weight.
fatty obese person, if you don't put that fork down immediately, the healthcare service will continue to be under strain and Grandma could die (Grandpa, too!)
Professor Powis said: 'Today’s shocking figures are a growing sign of the nation’s obesity crisis which is putting hundreds of thousands of people at greater risk of becoming severely ill with covid, as well as heart attacks, stroke, cancer and other deadly diseases.
See, professors of medicine agree with me, too!
The shocking statistics come as Boris Johnson continues his drive against obesity in the UK.
But not hard enough, it appears.
The Prime Minister stepped up efforts to address the country's issue with weight after he was hospitalised with Covid last year.
In March, No10 announced he had lost one stone from dieting and cutting out fast food and 'late night' cheese.
The fast food chains should probably stay in lockdown indefinitely:)))
And in the same month ministers announced GPs will prescribe more than
700,000 people diet plans, apps and wearable activity trackers over the
I know people who were prescribed diet plans and still refuse to follow them because they don't like how the diet food tastes...
Some 27 per cent of men and 29 per cent of women in England are obese, while about two thirds of adults are overweight or obese.
Britain, yes! You are doing worse than us at the moment...
Children living in the most deprived areas are more than twice as likely to be obese than those living in the least deprived areas.
And yet fast food costs more than fresh produce. May be if their mothers got welfare cuts, it would help???
Mr Johnson was in a high-risk group for Covid-19 when he caught the disease in April last year, because his BMI was around 34, making him obese.
I can't even...
Obesity is one of the biggest risk factors for severe Covid, with proportionally more obese people being hospitalised with the disease than non-obese people.
And yet, they keep pushing vaccines on fit healthy adults.
Obesity Federation research found Covid deaths have been 10 times
higher in countries where at least half of adults are overweight.
Well, that explains why few people died in Africa vs the USA, for instance.
Around 58 per cent of women and 68 per cent of men in the UK are overweight or obese.
While more men are overweight, it's women who end up in hospital. I guess men just suffer in silence and die?
And finally, some fun facts about the dangers of obesity. You can get, among other conditions:
type 2 diabetes, which can cause kidney disease, blindness and even limb amputations.
heart disease, which kills 315,000 people every year in the UK - making it the number one cause of death.
12 different cancers.
This includes breast, which affects one in eight women at some point in their lives.
Being body-positive is the path to early grave, time for some old-fashioned fat-shaming.
Stop stuffing your face, it's disgusting gluttony is a mortal sin and costs us all a lot of money, too!

My Experiences In Being (Semi) Vegetarian
Last time I are pork/red meat was beginning December last year, but I did eat chicken, though not every week.
I could sum it up in two sentences. a) It's been a struggle to keep on weight. b) It's boring hence I'm going back to a Mediterranean diet.
I substituted with cheese and eggs and I ate fish 2-3 times a week, but still would lose weight easily hence if you are
fat overweight, it probably makes sense to eat like a vegetarian from time to time, but if you are a normal weight, you could easily become underweight.
Despite what carnivore/paleo crowd tell you, carbs don't exactly make you fat unless you eat like a ton of them. I was the skinniest when also restricting animal fat, which was downright scary, so I went back to eating butter and full fat yogurt, but even eating cake nearly every day didn't quite help.
I didn't exactly miss red meat, but got bored from building my meals around eggs and cottage cheese, if you know what I mean:)
So that's my experiences so far...

The Punisher 2004
This is the 1st and only Marvel movie I have watched so far.
The Punisher is an action and revenge story with a rather predictable plot. The main character, Frank Castle, is an ex FBI agent who ran afoul of a mafia boss whose son got killed as a result of an FBI operation to prevent an illegal arms deal from taking place.
Soon afterwards Castle retires but that doesn't stop gangsters from slaughtering his whole family. Frank is the only survivor but everyone presumes him dead, too, however his former colleagues do nothing to bring the criminals to justice.
And then he returns and starts hunting his enemies who are all such total scum that one can't help feeling intense satisfaction when they die one by one from rather unnatural causes...
The moral is simple and straightforward: when the official law enforcement doesn't fulfill its duty, then the task shifts to common citizens. I can't say that I entirely disagree:)
The movie has no s*xual content whatsoever and is pretty traditional in other ways, too. Frank's wife is apparently a housewife, there are no female action figures etc; however, graphic violence would make it pretty disturbing were it not for its rather cartoonish character.
If your husband is at all like mine, he'll love it:)

Meanwhile In France...
Specially for Ascension Day:
France has banned schools from using 'gender neutral' spellings, saying they are a threat to the French language.
The country's education ministry issued the ruling last week after a push to include full stops in the middle of written words - dubbed 'midpoints' - which allow both male and female forms to be represented simultaneously.
But the Academie Francaise, which is responsible for guarding the French language, said the move is 'harmful to the practice and understanding of [French.]'

The Myth Of "Based" Eastern Europeans
There is this myth going around in right-wing circles that Eastern Europeans are somehow uniquely based due to
blessings of communism not being under Western influence for some time, apparently.
I would say that with a possible exception of Poles, this story is just that, a myth. I could go on with my personal experiences of what they are currently doing in my neighbourhood, but that obviously would be subjective. Instead, I'll point you to some hard facts.
I'll give you one example which American traditionalists really love, Hungary and Victor Orban. He was pronounced the most based leader on Earth some time ago, because of his plans to increase birth rates. So let's actually look at these initiatives more closely.
According to BBC news, they included women with 4 or more kids being exempted from income taxes. You only pay income taxes when you work, so clearly we are talking working mothers over here, something that American conservatives are supposed to be very much against. But wait, Mr Orban also promised to create more nursery places, i.e, daycare, again, something which President Biden is being heavily criticised about.
In addition, grandparents will be eligible to receive a childcare fee if they look after young children instead of the parents, Orban said.
Because what's more traditional than Granny babysitting while Mommy is at work, right?
These plans may look revolutionary to American middle class folks who aren't accustomed to getting anything from their own government, but guess what? We have exactly the same rule in this country and many people are rightfully against it, because children belong with mothers, not with grandparents.
We also have housing subsidies for low income families, and countries like Germany and France offer such amount of benefits per every child born that you could probably live on it, without any need for either parent to work. The only demographic who enthusiastically use them are third world immigrants or their descendants. White European women are above such nonsense, and would rather work a job, apparently.
Fundie Christians in my country do have lots of kids, btw. So it's not really about money, it's about mindset. The only thing which actually sounds based in Orban's plan is the interest free mortgage loan which is supposed to be cancelled after 3rd child.
So why am I writing about it now, 2 years later? I've been following coronavirus debate on Roosh's forum and there are some folks who currently live in Hungary. "Based" Orban was the 1st to introduce vaccination passports and other draconian rules which would probably cause another revolution somewhere in the USA, yet he is still touted as an example by the same folks who criticise lockdowns in their own countries.
I know of one European country which currently forbids abortion, Poland. There is none to my knowledge which forbids divorce or restricts married women's employment. Yes, some are less progressive on alphabet stuff, but is it enough to qualify as "a based Christian country''?
I'm not so sure.

Happy Mother's Day!
How did we ever come to the point when the word Mother, arguably the most important word in any language, the first word you learn, has become politically incorrect?
Personally I want to wish Happy Mother's Day to every mother, expectant mother and wannabe mother! We had a great day at the camping, it was +29*C in that part of the country (we left yesterday with rain and +11*C).
We went out and ate cake and drank tea and coffee, the sun was shining, the terrace was full, and everybody was happy that we are finally allowed to enjoy life again.
Temps will get lower the coming week, but still reasonable for May, and Thursday is Ascension, so a long weekend again, for many. Hope you all are having a fine day today with your loved ones!

Can New Vaccines Save Western Family???
In a shocking turn of events, Melinda Gates has changed her mind about divorcing Bill Gates only minutes after receiving the COVID vaccine.
"I have changed my mind and do not want a divorce from this amazing and handsome man," said Melinda with a glazed look in her eye. "Bill is perfect in every way. I cannot live without him. Also, Windows is the best operating system and Internet Explorer is the best way to surf the world wide web."...
..."I live only to serve my wonderful husband, Bill." She then changed into a 50's housewife dress and began cooking him breakfast.
