Other than his idiotic comments about pornography, though I understand his point about 'free speech,' he is not totally unreasonable when it comes to slander or libel. The 1st Amendment was also created at least in the US to end the state support of a particular Christian religion via people's taxes and to allow some open debate on political and religious ideas without the state coming down on you.
Of course, leftist are a danger and always have been. I'm sure a famous nationalistic German mustached man can attest to that and said as much in his speeches and writing though he to was a flawed person.
As an American, I really don't care about flag burning. I actually like this form of expression because it allows to evaluate the perpetrator in a proper context. I'm more concerned about the evisceration of the Bill of Rights and maybe burning the flag could be an expression of that loss. Not something I would do, but simply making a point.
I thought the discussion was interesting. I also think left and right are quickly turning into meaningless distinction. Right wing parties are trying to restrict citizens' rights, too. That is something to keep an eye on, imo. Since I don't fancy living in a dictatorship.
No doubt about the right. There are some on Gab that giddy at the though of the state telling naked women sites they need to swipe Ids 'to protect us' while forgetting that this can be very easily be used against them if someone else comes to power. I don't think the right wants to be tagged for donating to their local church or pro-Christian sites and having the government record that, but they are not clear thinkers at times.
I did vote for Trump with the expectation of things being less bad in some ways. What's scary though is this constant 'lawfare' between the GOP/Democratic and right/left on various issues. I'm a Texan, so I've seen it with the Texas legislature and this happening at the federal level as well.
That's owned by Peter Thiel, who recently presented some interviews about the 'anti-Christ' and AI. It's on Youtube somewhere. He also has some past connections to the VP JD Vance. An interesting rabbit hole. Maybe Trump with these AI data centers will usher in the ultimate police state. At least that is one idea in the conspiracy world.
