Is Fever Good For You?

 Apparently, yes:

At present, this is just a theory. For decades, studies have suggested that there is a link between history of infectious fever and lower risk of cancer — but as yet, there is no direct proof of cause.

However, in a paper now published in the journal The Quarterly Review of Biology, scientists from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Poland argue that there is a strong case for their hypothesis

P.S. I wonder if this is the real deal about vaccines and cancer. It's not that the vaccines themselves cause cancer, but rather the fact that they suppress natural defence mechanisms of your body, such as fever. This is especially true about seasonal diseases such as flu (and corona). May be, we are meant to have a fever periodically, who knows?

  1. It is well studied fact, that people who go to sauna frequently, have less heart failures and possibly less cancer.

Also I read about study, where they found that often, when people are dying on cancer, and get another infection, say, pneumonia that ALMOST kills them, if they survive it, the cancer often goes, too. Even if those people were really, really dying in it. So apparently it is very stupid that peole who get chemo are told to be very careful not to get flues or something.

Apparently it is very good that your immune system gets full throttle time to time. And some heat.

  2. Yes, sauna is supposed to work in the same way as fever does. I had read an article about it, but couldn't find it again so linked to another one on the same topic. There are also now recommendations to let fever run its course for kids unless it's really really high. But then it means they have to stay home from school and it will keep mummy from office...
