Why Do Americans Love British Royalties So Much?

I mean you guys fought the revolution to be free from the British monarchy:) By the way, we have royalties, too, but nobody seems to be interested in them.

  1. I've never understood the attraction either. I find it amusing though that the royals and their cohorts think of themselves as higher class and such, but do as much fornicating if not more than those in poverty at almost any public housing project.

  2. Oh I am interested in your royals. Your king being an airline pilot is quite fascinating to us since one of our sons was looking into becoming a pilot himself.
I skipped the coronation but did look at photos of what everyone wore. I'm disappointed that the Brits let Charles be king.

  3. Texan, yes and even worse, adulteries, like King Charles:) And don't get me started on Harry with his book of revelations, even low class alcoholics among some of our neigbours have enough class not to air their dirty linen in public like that.

  4. BTW, what's happening in Texas as of late? Shootings by Mexican gang members and invasions from across the borders? Are you guys doing anything to improve the situation?

    1. I live a couple hours away from both Laredo and Brownsville. Locally it has not been much of a problem since they migrant north toward San Antonio and Houston and farther. Governor Abbot will send the Texas National Guard though I don't know what the results will be. At some point something needs to come to a head with this corrupt federal government. El Paso, with a Democratic mayor no less, declared a state of emergency. Abbot buses some to Chicago and NYC where the sanctuary city communists are crying about how hard it is on them.

  5. Lillibeth, ours are decent, too:) Willem Alexander got his training as a military pilot. Charles is quite old to become next king, isn't he? Our Queen Beatrix retired at his age. But then he had to wait for such a long time, poor thing..:)

  6. My daughter in Brussels is indeed interested in your royalty, and definitely in Belgium's royalty. And the funny random thing is she is going to meet them (to what extend, that's unknown so far. Anyway, your king is going to visit Belgium's king in near future, and he wants to meet Dutch who live in Belgium. My daughter is married to a Dutch, and he entered a ''lottery'' for those who wanted to participate, and ta-daa, they were chosen (among others, I don't know how many) Now the problem is what to wear! :-D They haven't been given the dress code yet.

Why the Americans love so much the British Royalty, I do not know. Perhaps it is the little brother (younger nation) staring up to his older brother and wanting to do just like him once he grows up? Maybe it is the ''old culture'' which can be seen as something that doesn't change in a world where everything is new new new and changing by the blink of an eye? Maybe it's hidden envy - despite of all the wealth in the USA they weren't part of the British Commonwealth? And, my trusty tinfoil hat tells me it may have something to do with CIA and MI5/6 :-D As you can see I can make up several narratives in a few minutes.

As to King Charles III, I kind of feel sorry for him. I don't know how much you can trust a Netflix series (The Crown), but to me it painted a picture that I totally understand if his mother decided to do everything she can in order her son never become a king. Oh well.

  7. Miriam, how very exciting for your daughter and her husband!

Texan, I get the point of "owning the libs" but in the end, the illegals are just spread across the country. The only way it could help you in the long run is if your state seceded, then it wouldn't be your problem:)

    1. I would like to see a TEXIT on the ballot sometime soon. A Texas Bullion Depository has been created. I'm not real happy that Trump endorsed Abbot over better candidate in 2020, but he was going to be way less bad than the metrosexual who thinks he is going to 'take away everyone's guns.' If we were our own country, we could take of the immigration problem as we see fit.

    2. Yeah, instead of banning guns they are now banning self-defence, the way they've done over here to a degree. We have guns, too, but not allowed to use them except for sport and hunting. I see your country going exactly the same way in the very near future. At least, we don't have as much crime as some of your urban areas as of now, though it's getting worse. All these conservatives celebrating women with guns defending themselves, really? It's tragic when a woman can't even do her normal daily activities without the need for lethal weapons. It's full descend into barbarism, imo...
