  1. Thanks for the link!

Here in Finland breastfeeding has always been the norm. Only those women who cannot (easily) do it, you some infant formula. I once checked what they contain and they have nothing to do with milk!

But we face another problem: some "trancemamas" (mother's who think that they, their infant and their motherhood is the center of the known and unknown universe) want to breastfeed anywhere, really in public, even in fancy restaurants. You know, places where sane people do not take their infants because it is not good for the baby. They have demonstrations where they breastfeed their innocent babies at streets etc. Making their babies a weapon for feminist politics.

  2. You are welcome!

Considering breastfeeding, our maternity leave is quite short and with so many women working, bottle feeding is quite popular. It's also a statement, then you can make your husband feed the baby! That's why I found one of the comments on Lydia's blog so interesting, when a lady explained how when you pump the milk, it's worse for your child then when it's fresh from the breast. BTW, last time I checked, WHO says you should breastfeed exclusively till at least, 6 mos. I wish more women would understand how important it is.

But I see your point about fancy restaurants, I really do:)

  4. I recently learned of a benefit of breastfeeding of which I had previously been unaware:

If a mother-to-be has to be on a certain medication for her own health that she cannot do without while pregnant, and such a medicine is an addictive narcotic substance, there could be a danger of the child becoming addicted to said substance BUT this is greatly lessened if the mother breastfeeds once the child is born, because the lower dosage the child will continue to get through breastfeeding will prevent withdrawal symptoms and allow the child's body to get used to lower dosages, and eventually none.
