It's Epiphany today so don't forget to get rid of the Christmas tree, if you haven't done it already! Though officially, Christmas period lasts till 2 February. And if you put on weight during celebrations, I have bad news for you - Epiphany is not a time for dieting:) Celebrate it with
lots of cake!
very interesting. I follow a more messianic or anabaptist way of belief so I don't know about these traditions. I did grow up lutheran so I know about "advent" but I choose more messianic or anabaptist life. sometimes I also pay attention to "indigenous people" wisdom.....
ReplyDeleteThese traditions are probably much more Catholic than Protestant. I do find them interesting as not everybody in my family was/is Protestant. My Granny always used to take away the tree on the Epiphany so I follow in her footsteps:)
ReplyDeleteHere in Finland the tree was also taken away on the Epiphany.
ReplyDeleteApparently it's BAD LUCK if you don't do it on time, though according to Wiki you can let it stand till Candlemas:)
