Wouldn't it be nice if someone started a newspaper called Daily Housewife? It could be read online and would feature recipes, crafts, an outfit of the day, inspirational videos, child-rearing advice and all other topics so dear to the heart of an average housewife? Something to check up early in the morning which will provide you with validation and give you energy for another day of battling domestic entropy? Something with concern for home and all thing pertaining to housekeeping and shilling on behalf of the homemaker instead of big banks and corporations?
I wonder why haven't anyone thought of it yet???
I'd do it! It's exactly in my line of interest....if someone would give me a million dollars a year and do my housework for me:-D
ReplyDeleteIt could be a joint enterprise of several bloggers:) I'm just not sure what software one needs for it and if it can be used on Google blogs.
ReplyDeleteIt is a brilliant idea indeed!
ReplyDeleteThere is a magazine called 'Homemaker', but it is more about crafts and such.

Love this idea!
ReplyDeleteMiriam, thanks for the link, looks like a nice magazine!
ReplyDeleteChristine, how are you doing?
ReplyDeleteBTW, about the mag, that's the format I have been thinking about. Not sure if it's possible on Blogger or what software you must use.
ReplyDeleteOh my, yes! That would be cool, but I'm not sure I would ever be qualified to be a contributor, haha only a reader. I could never keep people entertained with crafts and arts I'm no good at it.
ReplyDeleteBut, hey, if there's a magazine you'd like to read that no one has started yet, then you should start it!
You certainly would! You are right though, the only way to ensure that things are done your way is to do it yourself:)
ReplyDeleteI would love that! I have been slowly going through your blog. I started at the beginning and am currently in 2014;) I just love it. Thank you!

Mrs. O., you are welcome!
ReplyDeleteWhen I hear of all the many many women's magazines for homemakers that were out many years back I am envious for sure! I have heard many bloggers say they look for and buy used ones on line. They like them better than the ones out today geared towards women. The older ones centered on homemaking skills and such. The magazines of today show fashion and home decorating and some recipes etc. but no mention of the homemaker and her life. If anyone comes up and puts out an one line magazine let me know!! :-)))))) Sarah
ReplyDeleteI just read somewhere that the number of working women in the USA keeps falling and is now around 57%. It means that there is a sizable minority of women out of the workforce and though not all, some at least, will think of themselves as traditional homemakers. It's a gold mine waiting to be tapped into:)
