"Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character."
ReplyDeleteYes and damages your health, too! Sometimes bad company is easy to recognise, like those friends who encourage you to do wrong things, but bad company can also be a jealous friend who sneakily undermines your confidence by passive-aggressive attacks.
ReplyDeleteThen there are those people who do nothing but talk about their personal stuff, mostly complaining. It is so exhausting. Since I am not that talkative, I tend to find "friends" that are like that. "Friendships" like that give you very little.
ReplyDeleteI think that people should focus on something positive when with their friends. If I would like to listen other peoples's self-inflicted problems forever, I would be a therapist and get payed for it.
Well, sometimes it's nice to find a sympathetic ear. People probably pay therapists nowadays exactly because there is no one else to listen to them. However, if the only thing they do is to complain about everything and spread negative vibes it can be better to avoid them.
