You may have heard about this WWII propaganda:
Nowadays sailors have more reasons than ever to be wary of women:
Trolls have targeted the female New Zealand Navy captain after a $100million ship sank under her command, forcing the country's Defence Minister to blast the 'armchair admirals' and stress her gender was not to blame.
Yeah, but how do we know? Would they tell us the truth do you think?
It is the first occasion in peacetime that the New Zealand Navy has lost a ship and a Court of Inquiry has been launched to establish what went wrong.
Many online trolls have taken aim at Commander Yvonne Gray who has been in charge of the vessel since 2022 - her first ship command.
Commander Gray, originally from Yorkshire in the UK, moved to New Zealand in 2012 with her wife Sharon after falling in love with the country during a campervan holiday.
The critics accused Commander Gray of being appointed to the role due to her gender and/or sexuality rather than her qualifications.
Situation clear enough methinks
It happened in New Zealand but should be posted under Britain, yes imo.
Remember the plane that missed the aircraft carrier in Hawaii in 2023? Piloted by an all women crew. Remember the bridge that collapsed in Florida and killed people? Designed by a group of women engineers. The ship that sank in New Zealand - captained by a woman.
ReplyDeleteThose in charge of this social experiment of letting women do jobs better handled by men need to learn a lesson. How much equipment needs to be ruined? How much money needs to be wasted? How many lives need to be lost?
Do men make mistakes, too? Of course they do, but the record above is very clear - at least to me.
Wasn't there also a Norwegian naval ship with a female captain which had some disaster recently? Like last year or so?
DeleteI think women shouldn't be allowed on warships. Space is so limited there, lots of crew sharing very small quarters. Mingling men and women under those circustances is just asking for trouble.
ReplyDeleteAlso women can never be part of that male camraderie, they build when they work at groups. I mean they play pranks at each other and call each other wankers or something and tell terrible jokes. And that glues their group together. Add one woman and all that is gone.
Jordan Petterson wrote about that in one of his books, and my own observations supports his claims.
About that female captain, I wonder, if she was most qualified -or just most suitable?
That's why they put them (women) there:) Western armed forces aren't supposed to be very effective, except the American ones. You can make 3 guesses as to why. And the US military has toned it down somewhat. A big war around the corner?
