Haha, you are so funny! Remember Latka of that show Taxi? I forgot the real name of the comedian who played the part but he was always challenging women to fight him in the ring. He was against women lib and wanted to prove that women were not meant to be fighters. Funny stuff. I can laugh knowing how absurd it is.
By the way I didn't watch the video. I can't bare to. I remember seeing that comedian fight a willing chick and it left a bad impression on me. As you can imagine the women libers hated him but not for the reason I thought. I thought he was a monster for fight a women because a gentleman doesn't hit a lady. But the feminist hated him because he was in their face and proving time and again women had not business in a man's world (so to speak), but I didn't understand that at the time and thought the feminist wanted to protect women, I thought that they were as appalled as I was over a women getting hurt by a man, but many years later I found out their true agenda. Anyway, maybe you might have noticed that hollywood is now making more and more movies showing women getting beat up. This is a terrible thing. People are being desensitized to this and that being the case how can a society take seriously a women being abused by male? Would they even consider it abuse? Much to ponder. For me personally I don't have the stomach to watch. We are truly living in interesting times.
One more thing to add, I now remember that the comedian was wrestling the women and not actually hitting them. The wrestling was extremely physical. It was all the talk in the mid seventies. I guess at that time the women's liberation movement was getting alot of press and pushing their way into the national consciousness and spotlight.
In the video above the woman was actually taunting men to come and fight her, and finally one agreed. You could see that he was not going down full force on her, but she still got a knock-out 2 times. In the middle of the fight she also suddenly turned her back to the guy and went away. Normally I agree with you about men fighting women but this one brought it all upon herself. BTW, she wouldn't even shake hands with him in the end and acknowledge her defeat. Imo, she got exactly what she deserved. If men are getting more abusive towards women than it's women like her who are to blame as they are constantly trying to prove a point. If women keep insisting on being treated as one of the guys, men will happily oblige.

ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I haven't seen the show, but I think we can all safely conclude that so-called women's lib has gone too far:)
