What Happened To Dalrock?

It's been more than 2 years since he quit blogging and got pretty much forgotten I guess, but recently I stumbled upon an internet rumour (which I won't link to), that he was "run off" the internet by a group of dedicated "Christian" (read "Catholic") "anti-racist" bloggers and Redditors for being a part of the "alt-right", and that the same people were behind VD's blog being shut down.

Now, one could argue that VD's views on race are rather controversial by the modern standards, but I have yet to remember one post by Dal which had to do with this topic or criticise any race in particular. It was all women bad and chivalry and how you shouldn't marry as far as I can remember and that's what the discussions used to be about, too.

I often disagreed with him, but should admit that I miss him since I often got ideas from his blog as to what to write about and now I have to think of something myself every time and it's a bother:)

If the story above is true, he must have really got under somebody's skin with his posts and yet, his blog wasn't taken down and you still can find it. Of course, with VD they didn't succeed, either, as he's back on his own network and could be followed on Gab, too. It could be that Dalrock got threats and harassment and that forced him to quit or it could be just the wishful thinking on the part of his enemies.

Any thoughts?

  1. My understanding was that Dalrock simply decided that he'd said all he had to say, had other things to do besides write a blog, and so decided to call it a wrap.

The fact that the entire blog is still intact at its original URL seems to indicate that his offered explanation can be taken at face value.

    But who knows?

    1. I kind of recall that being the case. At best, some of these guys hold for 3 to 5 years and then tire of it. I can't blame them. If you have to give credit to some of these people who have full time jobs and can write better and more compelling material than any alleged journalist or what passes for it out there. I get more out of a blue collar guy writing his researched opinion than the rubbish out there these days.

As an agnostic, Dal's blog documented how screwed up American Christian churches are in a number of ways. I can't say I disagree.

    2. Wasn't he blogging a lot longer than 5 years, more close to 10 or smth? My main issue with him was the fact that he incessantly criticised pastors who had families to support for not risking to be openly politically incorrect/not going far enough while blogging anonymously:)

    3. Just to illustrate my point, there was a lady once who had a blog where she expressed the opinion that women shouldn't be able to vote. Later on, her husband stood up for an election of some kind in their community and lost it, because his enemies made his wife's views on the female suffrage the main point of their campaign against him. Yes, many pastors are cowardly, but they have kids to feed...

    4. I guess it was a long time. I recall him leaving his posting up due to many requests. I did not really keep up with his blog.

I think women's suffrage should be repealed by the way. There are many decent conservative women, but it's not enough. It's kind of like all those magical duh-versities that will one day vote for less government.

  2. I found it rather abrupt, honestly and had my thoughts about it back then, but later forgot about this whole business until I stumbled upon a discussion where people were bragging about getting him and VD off the internet. He originally wanted to delete his blog, too, btw.

    1. Boy that's a pretty lame brag, worse than a boast in a bar when VD is still publishing on the daily. Keyboard commandos, so stunning and brave they are!

  3. Lol, it was an old discussion, they probably hadn't anticipated his return. After all, Heartiste, who was also mentioned, never came back...

I think his criticisms of certain pastors was warranted. There are those who were worse than "not unPC enough".

Other times I thought his criticisms were patently unfair. Doug Wilson for instance, is far from perfect, but he's not an enemy of men nor of traditional marriage. Yet, he remains a target of what is left of the manosphere.

I think we are increasingly entering an age where ministers are going to have to be brave and take risks. Too much is at stake.

  6. Yes, I agree! But he also often based his posts on some article in a liberal magazine which he then presented as a point of view of women in general, because it was written by some vapid prog ****, sorry female:)
