Our visitors are gone and life is coming back to normal. I have lots of things on my mind which I'd like to blog about but my house lies in shambles and I'm still working on my latest book (more about it later).
Here are some latest vacation impressions (Limburg, Aachen)

Daycares Don't Care And Other Things
Recently a small private day care started using our playgrounds for their kids. Since they don't have that many they only come a couple of days a week, and they have 2 caregivers for 5 children, a higher ratio than in most daycares. Yet I noticed one thing, they mostly didn't interact with the children the way a mother does. Sure, they cared about them not breaking anything but that was about all. For the rest, they appeared little interested and spent their time talking to each other. Somehow this system is considered to be superior to home care.
That all reminded me of a site called Daycares Don't Care which predictably attacks daycare. Now I won't go so far as to say that there is no situation at all when daycare may be necessary, yet a funny thing happened. While I was searching for this site I came across a blog where angry women triggered by the idea that Mother's love is superior to that of a hired caregiver accused those daring to express it of hatred and sexism, while calling them morons and using a f-word every second time. So much for liberal tolerance, I guess. It's either their way or the highway and anyone who disagrees is a f***ing hater! So there...
P.S. Swearing like a sailor doesn't make one a strong independent whatever. It just sounds trashy and low class.

Does Your Nagging Turn Your Husband Into A Woman?
I'm still having company around so instead of writing a lengthy post, I'll leave you with yet another link, this time it's an article dealing with testosterone decline in men, which among other things, can lead to the problems with fertility. According to the author, the number one reason of low testosterone is stress, which includes nagging wives. So it's true after all that bossy women emasculate their men:)
One thing I'd like to add, is that stress disrupts female hormonal system in the like manner, by producing high levels of cortisol, and that both sexes will benefit from good nutrition. So here is the article:

Modern Women Are Becoming More Aggressive
Note to British women, don't try it over here, especially with diverse gentlemen. May very well end up in hospital...

The Church Of Equal?
Some folks say modern Evangelicals have problems with feminism. I'd say they probably have problems with more than that.
Christians usually stand in opposition to any class distinctions...
(Quote by an Evangelical author).
21 For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear:
22For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat;
23For an odious woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.
I realise the verses are from the mean Testament, not from the nice one:)
(Since the lady author whom I quoted above no doubt, meant well, and it's a sister in faith I won't give her bad publicity and mention her name).
Does you church preach Jesus or social justice?

Some Thoughts On Divorce
When people criticise divorce, they will always point out that its easy availability contributes to high divorce rates (which is certainly true) and name many other factors, too. While all those observations are no doubt, valid, there is one big elephant in the room no one seems to notice, even Christians. I should probably say especially Christians, since they are supposed to marry "for better for worse till Death do us part".
When you marry in the church, you give a solemn oath in front of the witnesses and congregation to stay with each other till one of the spouses die. Not so long ago people used to believe that oath-breakers would spend eternity in Hell (our official liturgy still states it) and it wasn't restricted to Christians, either, as even pagan Germanic tribes believed the same. Plus, divorce without a just cause was considered adultery and it, too, was a mortal sin.
Of course, in our enlightened times we don't believe that ideas and concepts such as honour as in keeping your word are at all important and Hell is something which is seldom mentioned at all. When contemplating divorce one will consider the financial and custody aspects, but not the eternal consequences of their actions.
Frivolous divorce is dishonesty and betrayal, and that is the worst part of it, not the fact that women supposedly get "cash and prizes" (which doesn't happen until you have been married to a wealthy man) and not even the fact that the child will miss contact with one of his parents (usually father); because violating spiritual laws as in breaking a solemn vow is worse damage than simply material losses.
There is a reason society used to shun those who ruined their marriages and it wasn't out of meanness.

Phyllis Schlafly, R.I.P.
A prominent anti-feminist who singlehandedly defeated Equal Rights amendment in 1970s died yesterday at her home at the age of 92. Phyllis Schlafly has done a lot to support housewives and mothers, fight abortion and defend fathers' rights. She was politically active till the last months, endorsing Donald Trump in March of this year. She also wrote 27 books and countless articles and was the mother of six children. May she rest in peace...
