  1. Redeeming Home seems interesting blog, I wasn't familiar with it earlier.

I have to post this link how modesty sets you free: I have propably posted it before but it is so good. Writer is chassidic woman.

  2. Housewife, I found it through one of the blogs Lady Lydia links to. I thought it interesting, too. I think I remember you posting the link. Absent some standard of decency, female attention-seeking can quickly turn into an equivalent of a nuclear arm-race:)

  3. Disney and the Forces of Evil.
Just makes me sick, for lack of eloquence on my part.

  4. Mrs.O, you are welcome! it's not like mass entertainment was wholesome before, really. It started in the 1970s but really accelerated in the last couple of years.

  5. Christians are still the majority in the USA. Now imagine if all of them refused to view these shows and threw away their TV...

    1. I have a question for you off topic. What is your opinion on the 5 oz. Red wine for women's health theory? I read conflicting studies. (No surprise there!)
      Thanks

  6. Mrs.O, I think people who are teetotalers probably shouldn't start drinking for health reasons, however a glass of red wine (or beer which has vitamins of the B group) now and then won't hurt you, provided you aren't pregnant. I'm not a doctor, it's just my opinion though.

  7. Thank you for your opinion! I am just wondering if there really are health benefits.

  8. You are welcome! Red wine has resveratrol in it and it's a powerful antioxidant with proven health benefits, however, alcohol itself has also negative influence on many other things. Here you can buy wine with 6% alcohol content which is better, I think. If you drink wine in strict moderation with meals now and then it's probably beneficial. Problem is, many people fail to be moderate.

  9. I should add that there is conflicting research on health benefits of alcohol, and it can increase rates of some cancers, including breast cancer, but only in menopausal women, or vice versa, I forget which! Appears to be good for your heart, though, so it's a personal decision in the end.

  10. Thanks for the linkage, Sanne!

I don't do much linkage myself any more, and I apparently quite the giant linkfests I used to do a year and a half ago. One's blogging habits change over time, I have found. :)
