Roman Villa Close By Trier






We have visited a couple of those. I think this was the second one.




If I remember correctly, it was originally more of a farm, rebuilt and extended by later owners.





It had several bedrooms and a whole complex of baths and all things sanitary.












This was a cold bath:





And below is a Roman WC. it keeps standing, after nearly 2000 years which is probably more than will be said about our modern buildings:




They had to install the grating to protect it from barbarians, though:)

  1. Can you imagine, it's stood there all those centuries but now they have to protect it from danger by locking it up:)
