By Popular Demand...

I'm finally going to post the pictures of what I'm usually wearing at home (well, at least, some of the outfits). All the photos were taken the week before last. Please excuse the quality, as there is a couple of not very successful selfies and some pics taken in the evening.

This is a the skirt I knitted recently. Here is a close-up:

The same skirt with a different t-shirt:

The next skirt I found in a second-hand store, it's a Danish brand.

Making dinner:

Going on a visit, with a different shirt:

This dress I bought online:

I'm afraid it's not much, as I usually wear the same skirt for a couple of days, just switching blouses.
I hope it'll cheer you up, after the horrible events of the past weekend! (Not that we ever forget it, though).

  1. Very nice. Good job on knitting that skirt!

  2. Thanks, it was really rather easy, just going round and round in stockinette stitch. I regret using cotton yarn, though.

  3. Thanks Sanne for taking the time to show us a snapshot of your wardrobe. My favourite outfit of the week is the spotty skirt outfit you wore to go visiting.

And no wonder your husband prefers you in knee length skirts over maxi lengths. You have very nice legs. My genetics are such that I have thick ankles, and I've always wished it wasn't so. As I get older I have accepted that this is just my shape, but then they seem to get worse with age as well, and veins are starting to pop up as well. Yikes!

  4. Dear Mara, thank you for your compliment, I'm really quite average. My husbands says he dislikes long skirts because they are for hippies. The spotty skirt is stretchy, which makes it very comfortable.

I sympathise with your vein problem, I have a friend who's been suffering from popped up veins since she was in early 20s. Always had to wear jeans or long skirts, but recently chose for an operation to finally get rid of them.

I agree with Mara, your legs are really pretty. :) That knitted skirt is really nice. And the red one is really beautiful.

    I really like your style.

  6. Thank you, Housewife:) The good thing is that nowadays there are so many feminine styles to choose out of, so that every woman can find something which suits her personally.

  7. Sanne, Thanks so much for posting these examples of your lovely outfits. I've been trying to make the transition to skirts for years. Unfortunately, I am hampered by two things; one, the weather in Scotland and my need to walk my dog out in it several times each day. The second is that I have issues with my feet, so I must be very selective regarding footwear.
That said, "Where there's a will, there's a way". You have inspired me to try harder!
    Kind regards,
    Christine

  8. You are welcome, Christine! Is the weather in Scotland any worse than in the Netherlands? This is a serious question, we are having a storm right now:)

BTW, you can still wear rubber boots with a skirt while walking the dog.

    1. You are so right about the rubber boots, Sanne.I finally bought a pair and they are terrific!
I think I have been hiding behind these excuses to prevent myself from having to get more creative with regard to my wardrobe. I confess to wearing the dreaded "yoga pants" when walking my Scottie.
I definitely must try harder to do what I believe in my heart to be appropriate for me.

Christine, didn't MEN of Scotland use to wear kilts? ;) If they managed that with no underwear, I am sure you will find a way with skirts.

But I feel for you, I have the same issue here in Finland. But if one has long coat and boots, it makes very little difference wether you are wearing a skirt or trousers. I still wear trousers for dogwalking, though. I have tried skirts but it gets me unwanted attention.

    1. Hello Housewife,
Indeed they did, and still do for special occasions!
I'm not too concerned about any unwelcome attention should I wear the skirt, and as Sanne so beautifully has shown us with her outfits, I can and shall make a concentrated effort to sort this issue out.

  10. Housewife, even when it's a long skirt? True that, about long coat/jacket and boots.
