Per...I think I should add a clarification of sorts. Personally I don't believe that people put on weight due to some subconscious suffering. May be some do, everybody is different, but not the majority. In the past when many poor folks lived in much harsher conditions than now it didn't happen, as there was also not enough food going around among that social class.

What changed is the abundance of cheap processed food, soda drinks, the disappearance of home cooking and lack of physical activity.

Unfortunately, it's easy to put on weight but after a certain point, it becomes difficult to lose it and I'm aware that it's a constant struggle for some people (I sympathise).

However, with food addiction it's like with every other addiction. The 1st step to healing is to admit you have a problem, which is quite contrary to modern trends of "'fat acceptance" and "it's always someone else's fault." And just like with illicit drugs it's better to never go down that path at all. Unless they have a serious health condition which prevents them from being active (like a wheelchair bound) it's entirely up to them to change their lifestyle. I just keep wondering how did people in the past manage to survive much harder circumstances without ballooning to modern proportions. It's not just calories, it's what you eat and how much you move. There hardly were people that went untouched and if they existed I'm sure they didn't blame those who suffered ''lazy'' or something like that. I mean difficult times are easier to bear together than trying to cope on your own. Everything is connected. Aaand, the calorie theory has been busted and called Metabolism mystery I hear? OK, enough said :-)Miriamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03130669456548942894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-56839984204268494542023-02-08T00:50:54.280-08:002023-02-08T00:50:54.280-08:00Not sure whether one should go so deep. Simply because there was not enough food for everyone. What is happening in the subconscious? What is creating this fear of ''being exposed''? There is a need to feel protected. Self-control, or discipline, is used against something, against an urge, and therefor it is not something in harmony with your subconscious. Without any contradictions you just don't feel the urge and there's nothing to control.Miriamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03130669456548942894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-64380810298676753082023-02-07T00:37:30.425-08:002023-02-07T00:37:30.425-08:00Interesting theory. However, I think for many people it starts innocently enough: another piece of cake, another soda, fast food etc. It's basically the lack of self-control so here is your brain problem:)Sannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124283361844607678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-3476420656375646932023-02-06T22:30:51.547-08:002023-02-06T22:30:51.547-08:00Or is it the other way around? Our subconscious thoughts create the reality we live in, how we see the world and how we response to what we see. I see obesity as ''a buffer'' between a person and the life he/she lives. You can explain it with scientific terms, cortisol/stress, all kinds of artificial stuff in the food products, etc yet not everyone gets obese. If you can't work through your fears, worries, and coping mechanisms, if you believe everything that is said on TV/internet --- I think that's the recipe for obesity in a couple of sentences.Miriamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03130669456548942894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-5890659560548226512023-02-02T10:41:24.935-08:002023-02-02T10:41:24.935-08:00Yes and it's like people just keep getting big...Yes and it's like people just keep getting bigger all the time...Sannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124283361844607678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-52566882260545991282023-02-02T10:30:07.186-08:002023-02-02T10:30:07.186-08:00Yeah, that sounds like spam.
