Black And Tans

  1. Nice video and nice tune. I like historical time period dress and vehicles and background.

  2. I've long thought that just about all of the different versions of that song have seemed to lack the raw, livid anger of the lyrics. I enjoy many of them, such as the one you shared (and the video helps!), but they musically come across like a football cheer, like the singers never really knew what it's like to utterly despise to the pits of their empty stomachs their cocky, murdering oppressors. And I guess they haven't, those generations of bitter war being long past, and the new oppressors playing a much subtler game, if no less nefarious!

  3. The Wind That Shakes The Barley is a great movie. I did a review on this blog. Not sure what other films did they use. And the song I used to have on a cd long time ago;)

  4. Also the conflict in the Northern Ireland wasn't that long ago. I mean I still can remember the 1980s.

    1. True. That's a good point! (And maybe this fact about the Irish is why that people, probably more than any other Western nation, are actively rioting or brawling against their own traitor governments and the nation's replacements as much as they are.)

  5. Feminism hit them later than other Euro countries so their men are less wimpy. But they are doing their best to catch up though. Men will fight for their wives and children who are dependent on them or for chaste brides. Not for some sl8t down the corner or a strong empowered wymyn. Many European young men in general prefer to stay home and breastfeed now. They get a burnout if they work a normal working week. One can't seriously expect them to fight for anything. They may break a nail or so. When GenX men retire it will all go down the drain. And at this point I'm not sure whether we don't deserve it, either.

It's amazing how true this is on so many levels. Seeing it play out in real time is a combination of nightmare and dark joke.
