Women from Little House On The Prairie managed to do all sorts of work while wearing one, and of course, dresses in those times were more cumbersome, so to say.Sannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124283361844607678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-75005543917112989922013-05-02T11:58:39.929-07:002013-05-02T11:58:39.929-07:00I wear long and full skirts and ride a women's...I wear long and full skirts and ride a women's sport bike. It has a bar that slants, not a straight across bar like a man's bike. I have to be sure to safety-pin my dress to keep things safe, though.

Anything is possible in a dress!

JennyThe Lady of the Househttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16393357623619043633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-57093505016755877822013-05-02T11:55:55.777-07:002013-05-02T11:55:55.777-07:00I was looking at pictures from my wedding shower 1...I was looking at pictures from my wedding shower 16 years and noticed that with the exception of a handful, the majority of quests were in a dress, myself included.

Now, no matter where I go, even to church weddings, more women than ever are in pantsuits or dress pants.

JennyThe Lady of the Househttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16393357623619043633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-51577964149461578802013-05-02T01:02:33.935-07:002013-05-02T01:02:33.935-07:00I mean girls, of course:)I mean girls, of course:)Sannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124283361844607678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-64035536580133857472013-05-02T01:01:25.340-07:002013-05-02T01:01:25.340-07:00Michele, I ride the bike in skirts and dresses and...Michele, I ride the bike in skirts and dresses and never had a problem with it so far. A skirt shouldn't be very long and wide, though, otherwise it could lead to an accident. I'm an 80's child, too, and while we all wore jeans, we also wore skirts and dresses, especially for formal occasions.Sannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124283361844607678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-26771987585631191182013-05-01T19:34:35.685-07:002013-05-01T19:34:35.685-07:00I LOVE this post! And you are right about the bikes, that's why women's bikes don't have a bar going across as high as the men's bikes do.

And I hadn't really thought about it, but the 1990's was when everything changed. I was a teen in the 1980's and wore jeans and rarely wore dresses, but we did dress up to eat out and even for holidays.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-87416255040252900492013-03-02T01:10:56.877-08:002013-03-02T01:10:56.877-08:00Even in the 1980s women and people in general stil...Even in the 1980s women and people in general still dressed much more formal than now. It all went downhill in the 1990s with grunge style, it seems.Sannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124283361844607678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-49418541514196169982013-03-02T01:08:28.216-08:002013-03-02T01:08:28.216-08:00On the other side of the ocean:) In Holland, to be...On the other side of the ocean:) In Holland, to be precise.Sannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124283361844607678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-10360971680192830762013-03-01T17:16:55.522-08:002013-03-01T17:16:55.522-08:00Nice pictures. Oh, the women looked so lady like even when they were gardening or cleaning house. When I was kid growing up, women were truly the fairer sex. I recently looked at a picture of my family and I at an outdoor event where there were a lot of people and every single woman was wearing a dress, not one in pants. That was in the late 60's.Shaolinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09111880135950533263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139017677124620997.post-28245054044147218902013-03-01T17:07:51.304-08:002013-03-01T17:07:51.304-08:00I really enjoy reading your blog.
