I have loved this song since I read "Treausre Island" when I was a teenager. :) It scared my dog, though; she was sleeping and my speakers wear louder than I thought...
This version is funnier, but I didn't care for the video! Hope your doggy didn't get traumatised:) BTW, I'm fan of "Treasure Island", too! And the stories about Captain Blood...
I've never the whole song before. When I was a kid I had heard the first couple of lines in a cartoon and I thought they meant they were sitting on an actual dead man not his treasure chest. Haha
According to Wiki Dead Man's Chest is supposedly an island, though events in the song appear to have taken place on board the ship? I've heard a longer version than this one, too, mentioning a woman who was evidently invited by one of the crew, killed him and escaped with some money. I thought this song was from an original Treasure Island musical.
